The first ever Android-powered BlackBerry is now available on the third largest carrier in the United States. The PRIV can now be found in T-Mobile's retail locations and on its online store.

The BlackBerry PRIV on T-Mobile will come with a price tag of US$719.99 (AU$1,027). This actually works out to be US$30 (AU$43) per month for two years for $0 down.

This makes the device more affordable as the users can refrain from buying the phone upfront for US$699 (AU$996). However, one can also purchase the unlocked BlackBerry PRIV directly from the company website and save $20 (AU$28).

On T-Mobile’s JUMP! On Demand program, potential customers can purchase the phone for US$34 (AU$48) per month for 18 months with $0 down. The user will end up paying US$612 (AU$873) by the end of the term.

The JUMP! On Demand plan allows customers to purchase the handset by paying off their installment balance at any point of time. The user can also trade-in their smartphone for a new model up to three times a year.

The device can also be bought from AT&T, which until Jan. 20, had an exclusive on the carrier-branded version of the phone in the US, reports Phone Arena.

Running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, the PRIV is powered by 64-bit hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor. The handset comes with both physical and virtual keyboards. The phone has a sliding QWERTY keyboard under the dual-curve touchscreen display. Sporting a 5.4-inch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4, the device houses 32GB of in-built storage.

Earlier in January, BlackBerry confirmed on its official blog that apart from T-Mobile, the BlackBerry PRIV will also be available on Sprint and Verizon Wireless. The blog post mentioned that the device will be available on Verizon by the end March.
