BlackBerry PRIV, the first ever Android phone by the OEM, has been listed with major discounts on eBay in the United States. The online retailer is offering the smartphone at US$380 (AU$493).

In 2015, the Canadian phone-maker launched the BlackBerry PRIV with a price tag of US$700 (AU$922). Earlier this year, BlackBerry started selling the PRIV at US$649 (AU$843).

This means, this eBay deal will enable shoppers to save US$269 (AU$349) upfront on the unlocked AT&T variant of the PRIV.

The phone listed on eBay is a 32GB AT&T variant of BlackBerry PRIV. But since it is unlocked, the phone will work on any GSM or LTE network.

The BlackBerry PRIV sports a 5.4 inch dual-curve AMOLED WQHD display (2560 x 1440 pixels) with a slide-out keyboard. Its handy QWERTY keyboard also accompanies a touch screen display. The dual-curve screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

Powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, the BlackBerry PRIV houses 3GB of RAM. The PRIV offers 32GB of internal storage space which can be expanded up to 200GB.

In the camera department, the PRIV touts a 18-megapixel rear facing camera sensor made by Schneider-Kreuznach. The main camera features optical image stabilisation and dual-LED flash. There is also a 3,410 mAh battery equipped with Quick Charge 2.0.

Later last month, the BlackBerry PRIV finally received Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The update is available on available on ShopBlackBerry.com.

From May 3, Canadian carrier Telus will start rolling out the Marshmallow update for BlackBerry PRIV. The latest version upgrade will also bring in a security patch.

The Android 6.0 OS update will bring in regular Marshmallow features like personal data permission, improved notification settings and an enhanced keyboard. The update will also introduce better word prediction, new keyboard gestures and improved cursor control.
