BlackBerry Classic Q20 has been officially launched. The new handset sports a physical keyboard and trackpad. According to GSMArena, it has come out to succeed one of the best-selling handsets from the Canadian business phone manufacturer, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 that was launched in 2011.

GSMArena claims that BlackBerry has already begun with the preorders for the Classic business phone weeks before its official announcement. Without contract, the BlackBerry Classic price is $449 in the U.S. The Shop BlackBerry link states that current version of BlackBerry Classic that it is selling does not support carriers like Verizon, Sprint and U.S. Cellular in the U.S.

PhoneArena says that AT&T and Verizon are the two carriers that have confirmed on selling the BlackBerry Classic. As of this writing, the details of pricing and availability through these carriers are not known. BlackBerry ahs confirmed that the handset will be available in Canada through various carriers. Bell, Rogers and Telus will be selling the handset with two-year contract for $50, respectively.

BlackBerry Classic Features

The BlackBerry Q20 Classic will remind the users of the older BlackBerry handsets as it comes with a four-row physical QWERTY keyboard and the traditional square-shaped trackpad. The handset comes with 3.5-inch display screen supporting 720 x 720 pixels that is shielded with a Gorilla Glass 3.

The BlackBerry Classic is running on Snapdragon dual-core Krait processor that delivers a clocking speed of 1.5 GHz along with Adreno 225 graphics and 2 GB of RAM. The internal storage of the handset is 16 GB and users can pack up to 128 GB of microSD on its external storage.

On the rear side of the BlackBerry Classic, there is a 8 MP camera enabled with LED flash and on the front snapper is of 2 MP. The handset comes preloaded with BlackBerry 10.3 OS that can support Android apps present on the Amazon Appstore. The handset features various connectivity options like Wi-Fi, LTE 4G, 3G, Bluetooth, a-GPS and NFC. It is equipped with a non-removable battery with a capacity of 2,500 mAh that is capable of lasting 22 hours in constant usage, says Computer World.
