War will once again visit Nassau in “Black Sails” season 4. A new teaser picture released online reveals that the defences of the island and its fort will be tested. The pirates and the British will be fighting their final battles this year, as the show gears up for an epic finale.

[Spoiler alert]

Earlier it was the British who launched a successful attack on the pirates in Nassau, and later occupied it. After Flint’s (Toby Stephens) success in the previous season, the roles have now been reversed. This time it will be the pirates who will be attacking, and it will be Woodes Rogers (Luke Roberts) who will have to defend.

A new picture (see below) shows an action sequence from the next season. The caption reveals that Rogers has fortified the island, which may make things difficult for the pirates. Flint, however, has faced worse odds and overcome them.

Flint has the support of the dreaded pirate Blackbeard (Ray Stevenson) in “Black Sails” season 4. This year will also mark the rise of Long John Silver (Luke Arnold) as a pirate king.

A video [see below] of a conversation between Flint and Long John Silver has been released online. The scene shows the young pirate talking about his relationship with the captain. Silver tells Flint in the scene that the former could be the end of the captain.

While there is action on the, there is also intrigue. Many of the characters on the show have their own self interests and divided loyalties. Even the alliance of the pirates and the former slaves is on shaky grounds.

“Black Sails” season 4 will be the final chapter in the story about the pirates from Nassau. The show is available on Foxtel, iTunes and Google Play in Australia.
