“America’s Next Top Model” creator Tyra Banks is set to appear as a guest star in an ABC comedy series. She will play a character named Gigi in “Blacki-sh” Season 2 episode 11 titled “Plus Two Isn’t a Thing,” which will air on Jan. 6, 2016.

Gigi is a childhood friend of Andre (Anthony Anderson). While she grew up to be an international pop star, she still behaves like the silly child Andre grew up with.

Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) feels left out whenever Gigi and Andre get together. Because of the close relationship of the two childhood friends, there will be some tension between Andre and Bow.

The storyline was based on Banks’ friendship with “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris. In an interview with People, the former supermodel said she had known Barris since she was six and they developed “America’s Next Top Model” together so it was “only fitting” that they “got the dynamic duo back together.”

According to Banks, Barris wanted to showcase her “whole new comedic side” that has never been seen before. The former “ANTM” judge and host said that they kept her busy during the filming of “Blacki-sh” Season 2 episode 11 with multiple hair swaps, eight outfit changes, armpit sniffing and “a bunch of crazy stuff.”

In addition, Banks revealed that Ross called her the weekend before they taped “Blacki-sh” Season 2 episode 11 and offered to help her with her lines. She added that their filming did not feel like work as Anderson and Ross “made it a breeze” once they were on set.

It appears that Banks is accepting more acting projects after announcing that “ANTM” Cycle 22 would be the last cycle of the modeling competition show she created. She also recently confirmed that she will reprise her role as Eve in “Life-Size 2.”

“There is no one else that can play Eve but me,” Banks told Variety. “Thank you very much. I’m just joking with you, but yes, I am going to be Eve.”
