Up ‘til now, an invitation was the only way to get your hands on a OnePlus handset. But OnePlus is putting its OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X handsets on general sale for four days starting from Black Friday.

The OnePlus 2 boasts a powerful camera, high-resolution screen and a fingerprint sensor. It will be available for less than half the price of an iPhone 6. So, it’s been dubbed an 'iPhone killer'.

The 5.5-inch OnePlus 2 is the follow-up to last year's popular OnePlus One and starts at £239 in the UK and $329 in the US while the OnePlus X starts at £165 in the UK and $249 in the US.

Starting from Nov. 27 and for the next four days the Chinese smartphone maker is putting its OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X devices on general sale.

For contests and invites notifications, customers have to subscribe the company newsletter and join the community on the forums or follow the company on social media. Customers can sign on to the reservation list, however.

There are more than 3.5 million people on this invite list and they’ll only receive the OnePlus 2 when the phone becomes available. Invites are typically valid for 24 hours.

When a person purchases a OnePlus 2, he’ll be sent an invite to share with friends and family when an invite becomes available. OnePlus 2 will be sent to someone else waiting for an invite if the original invitee doesn’t show up.

OnePlus 2 features a 5.5-inch, 1080p screen that 'outperforms in direct sunlight with 178 degrees of crystal clear viewing angles' and runs Android Lollipop. It’s packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and comes with 16 GB of internal storage and 3 GB of RAM, or 64 GB of internal storage with 4 GB of RAM.

The highlight of the phone is its 13 MP image stabilised camera, two-tone flash, as well as a 5 MP front-facing camera for selfies and a laser focusing system.

While the iPhone 6's rear-facing camera is an 8 MP and Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge is a 16 MP, HTC's tops the list with 20 MP.

Similar to the iPhone, a fingerprint sensor is incorporated in the OnePlus 2 so users can lock and unlock their phone 'in less than half a second' without the hassle of remembering a password.

OnePlus has an operating system called OxygenOS based on Android that permits users to perform gestures to access features. These gestures include tapping the screen to wake it and drawing a circle to activate the camera.

The 'shelf' feature introduced by the handset to collects details about a user's most-used apps and contacts together in one place, as well as from Google Now, which a user can see by swiping left.

The phone houses better quality materials as compared to its predecessor and comes in kevlar or wooden back covers made from bamboo, an aluminium frame and stainless steel accents, textured plastic, black apricot and rosewood.
