As Black Friday 2014 and the year's holiday shopping season draw near, deals involving Google's Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 become more irresistible, commencing on the Android 5.0 Lollipop devices' release date week.

Outside of the Google Play Store, the 2014 stock Android flagships are also obtainable through Google's numerous partners and the prices they dangle should tempt everyone from getting both the Nexus 6 and 9 via the usual route - the Play Store that is.

Nexus 9 is only $199 directly from HTC

In a report by BGR, HTC is observing the 2014 Christmas season quite early and the HTC One M8 maker is playing Santa to those planning to toy with the 8.9-inch Nexus 9. The Taiwan-based company is shaving off $200 from the device and the promo starts on November 4, lasting through the next nine weeks afterwards.

Every Tuesday of the week, HTC is replacing the original $399 Nexus 9 sticker price with $199 and the discount is effective until supplies last. The same report is saying that specific Nexus 9 units will be earmarked for the 50 per cent price off, meaning one must be quick to grab the promo deal that is accessible via HTC's special deal site.

Note too that the model in subject of the promo is the 16GB Wi-Fi only variant.

The deal is in effect until midnight but HTC will still offer price cut of $50 for those late in the game. That would mean starting price of the Nexus 9 will be $249 and the discount is implemented across the board.

As mentioned, HTC's generosity will stretch nine weeks so Nexus fans should mark every Tuesday on the calendar and they have until December 30 this year to finalise a buy-decision.

To convince them perhaps, most reviews of the Nexus 9 call the tablet the best from Google so far as tech experts rave on its solid and premium build, its top-notch specs and the killer makeover delivered by Lollipop.

Easiest way to own the Nexus 6

The same can be said of the Motorola Nexus 6 - the handset's high-end components and gorgeous finish are aptly complemented by Android 5.0, specifically the dominant touch of Material Design on the software.

But Google Play's basic pricing of $649 per unit might prove a turn off. Thankfully, the Nexus 6 is coming to AT&T, according to CNET, and the telco's Next 24 Plan makes the smartphone really easy on the pocket.

Under the contract that has been pointed out by Android Central, subscribers can take home the device of their choice and pay for it in a spread of 30-month period. The best part of the deal is customers can take home the Nexus 6, for instance, without paying a cent. AT&T Next 24 is zero down-payment.

Now it remains unclear if AT&T and HTC plan to further sweeten their respective Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 promo deals as Black Friday and the 2014 holiday shopping season march in.
