We all know Billy Ray Cyrus is a great singer but he is an exceptionally good father too. He was there when the world was bashing her daughter for her raunchy performance at the MTV Video Music Awards some time back, and now too when her daughter is being criticised for being naked in "Wrecking Ball" music video. No matter what happens, Billy Ray is with on her daughter's side.

The 52-year-old country singer has called the "Wrecking Ball" a simply great song even without the music video where her 20-year-old daughter bared all. The video, directed by controversial photographer Terry Richardson, shows the singer licking a hammer and swinging nude on a ball.

"I'm a song man. A musician singer songwriter who loves all styles of music. But again...I come from the old school where it starts with an artist and a song...colliding if you will...in a moment where the song, the singer, the producer, the band and the listener become one," Billy told "Entertainment Tonight's" Nancy O'Dell.

He further goes on to say that the song is so wonderfully sung and shows that Miley has got singing roots. The father believes that Miley has "God's talent" for singing and her vocal performance was excellent.

Calling the song a "smash" hit, Billy is of the opinion that it would not have mattered if Miley was fully clothed and worn jeans or a nun's dress to do the music video of the song.

"It wouldn't have mattered if Miley would have worn jeans and a flannel shirt... a Tux...or a nun's habit. The song's a smash...and her performance vocally on the tune reflects her roots and sheer God given talent," Miley's dad concluded.

"Trying to type ,tweet, twerk and ride a wrecking ball naked all at the same time while carrying a sledge hammer is proving difficult ! PEACE," Billy wrote on Twitter on Sep 10. Looks like he is trying to accept the reality of his daughter's performance!

In other news Miley has urged her fans to look past her being naked in the "Wrecking Ball" music video and see the emotional part of her. "The song is a pop ballad. It's one of these songs that everyone is going to relate to, everyone has felt that feeling at one point," Miley told MTV News.

"If you look in my eyes I look more sad than my voice sounds on the record it was a lot harder to do the video then it was to record the songs. It was much more of an emotional experience," she added.

"Wrecking Ball" is the second single to be released from Cyrus' "BANGERZ" album, due Oct. 8.
