Bill Nye recently read various negative tweets about himself to support a Kickstarter campaign. The project is a documentary about the Science Guy.

Vanity Fair writes that the Internet’s popular Science Guy, took time to read unappealing tweets about him on camera. Hopefully, his interesting take will help increase awareness for a Kickstarter project that he is supporting. The campaign is a new documentary made by fans called “Bill Nye Film.” He set up his Twitter feed and read the meanest tweets about him available. Fans were amused at how patient and game he was in reading all of these, especially the worst kinds.

Several of the tweets came from people who denied climate change and individuals who had concerns with Nye’s defense of evolution as real. There were also some tweets that plainly showed others’ disgust for the Science Guy. Nye maintained his position against evolution and climate change. He did apologise to one tweet source who hated Nye for naming his 2014 book covering the science of evolution, “UndeNYEable,” instead of “Undeniable.”

On the Kickstarter project page , the two fans, David Alvarado and Jason Sussberg, share their plan to come up with a Bill Nye documentary. They stated that it will be a film about science and exclusively about Bill Nye. They reportedly formed a team including producer Seth Gordon for an all-access backstage pass to Bill’s quest in changing the world. They will be following Bill as he tours around the globe and gets involved in various activities like launching a satellite and advocating space policy in Washington D.C. They will also film Nye as he spends time with Neil deGrasse Tyson, among other things. Hopefully, Nye will make his mentor, Carl Sagan, proud of him in his ultimate endeavor.

Pledges for the Bill Nye Kickstarter campaign begin at $5 (U$6). People who donate $10 (AU$ 13) can even get a Bill Nye emoji set. The campaign aims to raise $650,000 (AU$879,000) by Aug. 14, 2015. As of Tuesday, 9,027 backers were on board and $462,359 (AU$625,000) has been raised. The project appears to be nearing success as Nye gains more momentum by reading more of the tweets against him.
