Bill Cosby has reportedly been working closely with his legal team in an effort to clear his name from the renewed allegations of sexual assault thrown against him. He is said to have hired private investigators to find out the dark secrets embedded in the lives of his accusers.

The 77-year-old comedian is reportedly spending a hefty amount on private detectives. New York Post reported that Cosby is trying to dig up some dirt and find out any detail that may discredit his alleged victims. The comedian, who is facing decades-old renewed allegations of sexual assault from around 20 women, is shedding off six-figure fees to finance private investigations.

Cosby is following the advice of his attorney, Martin Singer, to prepare their groundwork to fight these allegations should any of them be taken under the court's jurisdiction. To date, all the cases raised are beyond the statute of limitations as they occurred decades ago. The singer is working on the legal tactic that aims to question the credibility of the accusers.

According to an insider, Cosby is quite impressed with the idea of hiring detectives and has advertised the same in front of his public relations and legal team. He is emphasising the fact that if someone is accusing you, the world should know their complete background to judge their credibility. "You can't say that I put something in your coffee, threw you in a cab and then you go on and live a high-profile life, a famous life and you never complain," said Cosby, in reference to supermodel Beverly Johnson and her allegations.

Cosby's strategy has produced good results thus far. Fox News is claiming that Beverly Johnson's ex-boyfriend revealed exclusively to the investigators that she never hinted about any misconduct in the hands of the comedian and had even praised him a lot. He was the live-in lover of the former top model for many years. As reported earlier, Johnson has raised serious allegations against Cosby, accusing the actor of drugging and manhandling her in the 1980s. Another alleged victim is the former girlfriend of Sammy Davis Jr., Katherine McKee, who accused Cosby of raping her during the early 1970s. She is also being studied closely by these investigators.
