Actresses Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon recently interviewed each other, and the outcome was just as fabulous as expected. The duo will be seen together in the upcoming HBO mini series “Big Little Lies.”

The Oscar-winning pair sat down for a face-to-face interview (watch below) with each other on “Good Morning America” to discuss the close bond they formed while working on the project. Nicole, 49, and Reese, 40, started off by sharing details about their birth — and that’s when some surprising facts about the two spilled out.

“I’m so excited to be interviewing you today,” Reese told Kidman. “Well, I was born in 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana,” the actress added. The latter then revealed her Hawaiian heritage, which Witherspoon was already aware of. What she didn’t know was Nicole’s Hawaiian name.

“I have a Hawaiian name,” Nicole said to the now-surprised Witherspoon. “Hokulani,” the actress divulged.

The two then moved on to more important stuff. “What was your first reaction when you read the book, 'Big Little Lies?’” Witherspoon shot the question at her “Big Little Lies” co-star Nicole. The latter replied she was “riveted,” and that she finished reading the book in around 48 hours.

Witherspoon, at a later point during the interview, admitted that she had always looked up to Nicole. “We didn't know each other very well before,” the actress said to Kidman, according to an ABC News report. “We started but I just always ... I always looked up to you. You're such an incredible actress.” Nicole’s canny reply was, “I call myself your big sister now.”

“I'd never had the experience of working with another woman so closely that I got to call you and say, 'What do you think I should do with this character? I don't like this scene and I don't know how to play this,'” Kidman opened up a bit further, addressing to Witherspoon.

At some point in the interview, Nicole couldn’t recall the pair’s first meeting. But the memory was fresh in Reese’s mind, who reminded her colleague-cum-friend that it was her who had walked up to the “Birthday Girl” actress during the 2002 Oscars. Nicole, at that time, was nominated for Best Actress for “Moulin Rouge.”

“I remember going up to you and you were wearing some gorgeous gown,” Reese said, according to The Fix (Channel Nine). "And I was like, 'I'm just such a huge fan'." Years later, the two have developed a close friends with each other after working on the Australian bestseller adaptation, “Big Little Lies.”

Watch “Big Little Lies” season premiere on Feb. 19, 2017 on HBO. In Australia, the show will premiere on Feb. 20 at 1:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Showcase at Foxtel.
