There is one reliable way to predict the winners of any competition: the betting odds. It’s not a clear-cut guarantee but it shows which players or teams have the highest chances of winning any title or crown. The same can be true for the “Big Brother Australia” Season 11 as sportsbooks have installed three heavy favourites in Skye, Lawson and Jason to win the title this year.

Here is the complete and most updated list of the wager lines with implications on the result of the contest for the popular reality show:

To Win Big Brother Australia 2014 - Betting Odds (via sportsbet.com.au)

Skye (3.50)

Lawson (5.00)

Jason (6.00)

Ryan (8.00)

Sandra (9.00)

David (10.00)

Aisha (11.00)

Sam (11.00)

Priya (12.00)

Travis (17.00)

Cat (19.00)

Leo (26.00)

(Note on betting odds: lines posted are accurate at time of posting and subject to change.)

For the uninitiated in sports/entertainment betting, the simple formula is X (wager amount) times Betting Odds = Payout

As an example, a $100 bet on Skye (3.50) will net a total of $350 (or $250 winnings) while the same wager on Leo (26.00), the heavy underdog will gain a total of $2,600 (or $2,500 winnings).

Why Is Skye The Favourite To Win Big Brother Australia 2014?

20-year-old Skye Wheatley from Gold Coast is one of the dozen housemates to enter the house since the reality show started. Four others (Aisha, Cat, Lawson, and Sam) entered in Day 2 and yet another, Leo, dubbed as the intruder, came in on Day 24.

Skye has been saved by the public votes twice already a good sign that she has major backing from the Australian viewers of the show. A barista outside Big Brother’s house, Skye was saved along with Lisa after getting nominated in Week 2 and yet again in Week 3 in the most eviction.

Five “Big Brother Australia” Season 11 housemates have already been evicted; Gemma Kinghorn on Day 16, Dion Kallis and Katie Skeps on Day 22 and 23, respectively; and Jake Richardson and Lisa Clark on Day 29 and 30, respectively.

Curiously, the last evictee, Lisa declared in her exit interview that Skye or Jason are the ones she favours to take the crown— an opinion shared by the bookmakers.

Betting odds of course are of course good predictors of what’s about to come but the results, as with any competition, are not set in stone. For now Skye and Lawson are the favourites but their performance in the tasks and general appeal to the viewers will ultimately decide if they have enough to go all the way to the “Big Brother Australia” title in Season 11.
