“Big Bang Theory” star Mayim Bialik has opened up about life after divorce in her candid vlog. The 40-year-old actress shared about her struggles three years after her marital split.

Bialik began her vlog explaining the reason why she decided to touch on a personal subject. She said that having fully grasped how to parent with her ex, she wanted to help others who are going through the same thing as her.

“It’s a private matter,” Bialik expressed. “Talking about it may violate my ex’s privacy or my family’s privacy. However I’d like to talk about it in a way that might help some of you who are going through something similar.”

Bialik was married to Michael Stone for nine years before finally deciding to call off their marriage in 2012. The pair share two kids, Miles Roosevelt and Frederick Heschel. One major thing which Bialik had difficulty with post-divorce is raising her children.

“Being divorced is not a fun way to raise kids,” Bialik admitted. “Things my ex did when we were married that annoyed me then, annoy me still.

“The best thing I can do is be tremendously grateful for what a wonderful ex-husband I have and what a great dad he is and to continue to shatter the image of the perfect family I thought my intact family would be.”

The “Big Bang Theory” star explained that for the last three years, she’s able to cast aside her differences with Stone for the sake of their two kids, aged 7 and 10.

“Life is not a dress rehearsal,” Bialik shared. “My kids get one chance to be kids and this is their situation. I have to put them first because I’m their mum and he’s their dad.”

The actress who’s now known as “The Big Bang Theory’s” Amy Farrah Fowler, also expressed that she believes divorce doesn’t necessarily mean ending all ties with an ex-partner.

“Divorce isn’t the end of a family,” Bialik said. “It’s the end of a nuclear family. It’s the end of a family living in one house. But we still have responsibilities to each other’s family and to our children as a family.”

Bialik recently uploaded her Vlog in her YouTube channel amidst filming season 10 of “The Big Bang Theory.” The CBS show premieres 8 p.m. on Sep. 19 on CBC channel in the US. The program airs on Nine Network in Australia but the upcoming season’s airing date is yet to be announced.
