Valve may be keeping it quiet compared to the regular updates, new announcements and ongoing add-ons for the PS4 and Xbox One, but it seems that the Steam Machine is making a head-on progress.

This time, another third party manufacturer, Piixl, is slated to launch its own SteamOS machine. Hexus reports that this particular Steam Machine can be attached to the back of a flatscreen TV, hence named Jetpack.

One advantage of Piixl's Jetpack Steam Machine is that it's very thin, yet it will also feature impressive insides, including Intel Core i7 processors, Nvidia Titan graphics card and a 1 TB storage space.

"Jetpack is designed for gamers that do not want to compromise on performance nor interior design," said Francois-Xavier Gardes, managing director for Piixl, in an interview quoted by Hexus. "If the future of gaming is open, so should be the hardware platform it is being played on," he added.

Piixl's Jetpack will already be available as early as Jan 1, 2014 at £600. The pricing is far from iBuyPower, which costs around the same price as an Xbox One, but Jetpack does make for a sleek-looking Steam Machine.

Gamestick Lands Ubisoft

The fight for the Android console heats up as not only Mad Catz and Ouya join the market, but GameStick also tosses in developments in its arena.

It seems that GameStick, though delayed for many months, is now slowly trying to regain some footing by landing a big publisher for its roster of games.

Tom's Hardware reports that the likes of "Prince of Persia" will get on the platform. That's not all there is to the console, but for now, PlayJam, the name behind the device, is not yet revealing any more publishers.

Nintendo's Wii Remote Plus

For those looking to replace their Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk controllers, then this would be a good time to do so, as Nintendo is currently selling refurbished versions of the device for $20.

Joystiq reports that this will not only save you $10 for the accessories but also give buyers a choice of getting a white, black, or blue-coloured set. As usual, the Nintendo accessory is covered by the 90-day warranty, and while it has some minor cosmetic blemishes, it is a good deal nonetheless.
