MTV's annual Video Music Awards attracts the biggest stars of today and what happens on the red carpet is always something fans all over the world look out for.

Unlike high profile award ceremonies like the Oscars or the Emmys, the MTV Video Music Awards is a yearly celebration of the lively and fun side of the music industry. On the red carpet of the VMAs, there's nothing wrong with seeing a misplaced pantyhose, messy hair or lots of eyeliner. In fact, Lady Gaga surprised the fans with a dress made entirely of meat three years ago, and of this year, the "Born This Way" singer chose to dress like a man. Other red carpet fancies were of course the glowing Beyonce, who's currently five months pregnant with husband Jay-Z. The R&B star arrived in a body-hugging red dress that showed her curves.

Another red carpet dazzler was the newly-wed Kim Kardashian who wore a tight silver dress and her gigantic wedding bling from husband Kris Humphries. The reality star had to cut her European honeymoon short to walk for the VMAs red carpet just in time. Big winner Adele wore a simple black dress that did wonders for her curvy-yet-attractive figure.

Aside from Lady Gaga, whose outfit seemed too ridiculous and hurtful to LGBT community, the usually- stunning Katy Perry didn't impress as well. The Video of the Year winner wore an odd geometric headpiece that didn't go well with her low cut ensemble at all. Rapper Nicki Minaj looked like a walking circus with all the kitsch and neon colors on her body. Jersey shore stars Snooki and J-Woww also arrived, this time, without wads of fake tan spray and their usual party see-through pieces.
