The 28th edition of the Generali Ladies Linz is underway. The tournament played on the indoor hard courts will run from Oct. 4 until Oct. 12. Prior the tournament's opening matches, the participating players gathered around for a glamorous evening themed "A Night Of Ballet." The female tennis athletes came dressed in fanciful ballet dresses and skirts as if they were to perform in a breathtaking ballet performances.

Ana Ivanonic arrived at the party dressed in an elegant black gown. She shared a snap of her on Twitter. According to Ivanovic, her outfit was inspired by the costume from Natalie Portman's movie "Black Swan." The Serbian tennis star has advanced into the second round of the tournament after beating Pauline Parmienter in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Unfortunately, Ivanovic was forced to pull out of the Generali Ladies Linz due to a hip injury, ESPN reported.

Canadian rising tennis star Eugenie Bouchard also tweeted a picture in her white and pink ballet outfit. Bouchard, who was pretending to be dancing in the photo that she shared to her followers, could pass for a ballerina. Bouchard, who just moved up the world rankings to the sixth spot, scored a first round win against Patricia Mayr-Achleitne, 6-4, 6-1. She will face Tsvetana Pironkova in the next round.

Eighteen-year old Donna Vekic of Croatia was also in attendance at the party. Like Bouchard, Vekic sported a white and pink ballet dress. Vekic was ousted in the first round. She lost in straight sets, 7-5, 6-1, to Ons Jabeur of Tunisia.

Pliskova sisters, Kristyna and Karolina, also joined the party at Stahlwelt. Kristyna and Karolina wore their tutus for the party. Karolina defeated Belgian athlete Kirsten Flipkens, 6-2, 6-4, to advance into the second round.

Timea Bacsinszky came to the party dressed in black top and red tutu skirts. The Lausanne native tennis player teased her Twitter followers by posting her outfit a day before the party. Bacsinszky was upset by Jana Cepelova in the first round match, 6(3)-7(7), 6-1, 4-6.

Other players who graced the party include Andrea Petkovic, Anna-Lena Friedsam, Sandra Klemenschits, Tamira Paszek, and Alicja Rosolska. Tennis 24, a website that provides coverage of tennis events, has shared the photos from the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Generali Ladies Linz party on its official Facebook page.
