Apple's iPhone 6 wave appears to die down as upcoming competitors take the spotlight. Samsung will reportedly release the Samsung Galaxy S6 in early 2015 drumming up hype and predictions. Samsung hinted at a recent forum that people may see bendable phones in the coming year leading expectations on the upcoming S6. Will it be its killer feature against Apple's hot selling iPhone 6?

The past few years have been a success for Samsung especially with its Galaxy S Line, Galaxy Tab Line and Galaxy Note line. Back in 2010, these devices were synonymous to Android according to Android Authority. Not so much into the present when other players like Xiaomi, LG and HTC have started gaining attention for their releases. The Korean tech giant felt the competition even more when it posted disappointing earnings in the third quarter.

During the Samsung Investors Forum 2014, Samsung revealed a number of plans including possible release of bendable smartphones by 2015. It may be pegged towards the last quarter but as with other tech releases surprises may spring up including a bendable Galaxy S6 at the start of the year. It was also hinted that Samsung plans to release fewer models which could answer concerns about in-house differentiation.

Samsung's Senior VP and Head of IR, Robert Yi, also shared thoughts about the Xiaomi: "They are a mysterious entity. I don't know where they create profit." Xiaomi has been a growing threat for the company in the past quarters starting in China.

As for other expectations on the Samsung Galaxy S6, Android Geeks reported the possible announcement to be this January (during the CES 2015) or February (during MWC 2015). The release will likely be March - sometime near the timeline Samsung follows. Other reported features include Quad HD (1440 x 2560) screen with Super AMOLED technology, 64-bit support as introduced in Android 5.0 Lollipop and Exynos Modem 333 or Snapdragon 801.

Samsung has not provided official details about the Samsung Galaxy S6.
