Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner recently made an appearance at the 2014 Save the Children Illumination Gala on Wednesday, Nov. 19, in New York City. The actor was honoured at the gala, while the actress came along to support her husband.

"This year's gala honorees share an unwavering commitment to giving children living in the poorest, toughest places on earth a stronger start in life," Save The Children President Carolyn Miles said in a statement. "Through their work, more babies and toddlers are getting the right health care, early learning opportunities, and a greater chance to reach their full potential."

During the event, the duo reportedly couldn't keep their eyes off each other. They also coordinated their looks. Jennifer looked stunning in a black short dress, while Ben looked dapper in a black suit, which he coupled with a white shirt and blue tie. The 42-year-old actress wore her chestnut tresses in loose waves and accesorised her look with a set of bracelets, necklace and drop earrings.

Meanwhile, hinting that all is well in his married life, the actor also spoke about his wife during the red carpet event for "Project Greenlight" of HBO. He said that he is lucky to have a great wife, People reports.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have been married for nine years. They became engaged in April 2005 and got married on June 29, 2005 in a low-key ceremony. No guests were invited to the nuptials. The actor met Jennifer on the set of "Pearl Harbour." They have three children together: Violet, 8, Seraphina, 5 and Samuel, 2.

Affleck was previously in a relationship with Jennifer Lopez for 18 months. They began dating after meeting on the set of "Gigli." The couple received much attention from the media because of their high profile status. They became engaged in November 2002 and set the wedding for Sept. 14, 2003. However, they called off the nuptials for unknown reasons. Since then the two are said to have remained friends.

Recently, Lopez confessed on Today Show that breaking-up with Affleck was not easy for her. It "was probably her first big heartbreak," she said. She has also written a book titled "True Love," which gives the real account of her personal life and how she transformed over years.
