After the success of "Maleficent," Disney is now working on another fairy tale adaptation which is none other than "Beauty & the Beast." Reports have it that Kristen Stewart is expected to play the part of Belle. Yet, before Stewart there has already been another Belle cast in the much awaited adaptation who would be none other than Emma Watson.

It's the battle of the Belle's in the highly anticipated film adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast." Long before the hype of Disney recreating adaptations, there had already been talks of a remake for the said film set to be directed by Guillermo Del Toro.

"Harry Potter's" Emma Watson has been cast as Belle in the Del Toro directed film back in 2012. However, due to the number of film projects on Watson's plate, the production for "Beauty & the Beast" has been moved to 2014. According to Watson, the film is likely to push through this year.

"I hope so. Del Toro] always has so many things he's working on at once, so we're still putting it together. I hope so," stated Emma.

Due to the delays in Del Toro's version of "Beauty & the Beast," Disney is now working on its own adaptation. Reports claim director Bill Condon is set to work on an adaptation of the beloved fairy tale. While Watson is the Belle of the ball for Del Toro, Condon has his eyes set on "Twilight's" Kristen Stewart.

"The process and the script for the movie are still in the beginning stages but as it fleshes out, Bill Condon has definitely thought of Kristen Stewart as a possible Belle," claims a source to Hollywood Life.

Yet, due to Stewart's age, film makers are looking for someone younger to play the part of Belle.

"By the time they make the film, it might be 2015 or 2016 and they think she'll be busy and they might go after somebody younger. Disney's thoughts are, the big name for the film should be devoted to the Beast so Kristen has a 50/50 chance to be Belle," continued the source.
