Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) officially took the center stage on “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” trailer against a menacing comic book supervillain.

Amid the disagreements between Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Clark Kent (Henry Cavill), the two face a bigger threat with Doomsday, the Kryptonian monster that killed The Man of Steel in the graphic novels. Wonder Woman enters in the final scene, saving her fellow superheroes from a fatal attack launched by the monster.

“Is she with you?,” a confused Superman asks Batman to which he replies, “I thought she was with you.”

Wonder Woman’s appearance completes the DC Trinity: Batman is the vigilante who fights bad guys with the aid of science, Superman is the powerful alien whose righteous path led him to protect the Earth and Wonder Woman is the warrior princess who wields magic and advanced weaponry to fight for the greater good.

A new supervillain presents the theme of heroes forming an alliance in order to defeat a bigger foe.

Based on the trailer, LexCorp has acquired, maybe even stole General Zod’s (Michael Shannon) corpse. According to ComicBook , Lex Luthor’s (Jesse Eisenberg) twisted experimentation will turn him into Doomsday.

In “Man of Steel,” General Zod’s neck was snapped by Superman. Clues as to Shannon’s involvement in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” seemed obvious when the actor was seen hanging out with Cavill on the film set.

In the comic books, Doomsday was created by Bertron, a Kryptonian scientist who sought to create a living weapon. Doomsday eventually went on a rampage across the universe.

The clip also shows Jeremy Irons as Alfred and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. The film is directed by Zack Snyder.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” opens on March 24, 2016 in Australia. The three superheros are set to appear in 2017 and 2019 in the upcoming “Justice League” films.
