Filming of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" has been reportedly wrapped up recently. However, details from the plot of the highly anticipated DC Comics movie continue to surface. Buzz is that one of the major characters of Batman movies will already be dead by the time Ben Affleck's Batman and Henry Cavill's Superman team up to face supervillain James Spader's Lex Luthor. Read on to find out which Gotham City resident would not be seen in the upcoming movie.

Fans must note that this article contains major potential spoilers. However, in the absence of official confirmation it is wise to consider the details as rumours or mere speculations.

According to the new report by Badass Digest, Batman's friend and Gotham City's police commissioner James Gordan will be dead before "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" events play out. The script reportedly features a scene showing James Gordan's memorial plaque. The report notes that role for the Batman's ally was not cast for the movie.

The aforementioned publication speculates that James Gordan's death wouldn't make much difference to the story of the movie because most of the important events of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will take place in Metropolis. But fans must brace themselves for "two major fight scenes" that will take them back to Gotham City. One of such scenes reportedly occurs when "Superman comes looking for Batman" in Batman's hometown. And the other action scene the publication is referring to is the ultimate battle scene. Meanwhile, there is no information about "how and at whose hands" did James Gordan get killed.

James Gordan is not the only Batman accomplice to be rumoured to be dead in the movie. As reported, the drafts of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" script had a mention of a "deceased Robin."

According to the publication, Batman has already served for 17 years in Gotham City. Noting the point, IGN speculates that Jena Malone might be playing the adult Barbara Gordan and not Carrie "Robin" Kelley as rumoured before. For those unfamiliar, Barbara Gordan is the daughter of James Gordan. In the comics Batman #666 and the Batman Beyond, Barbara takes over her father's post in Gotham City police and operate as the "new Commissioner Gordan." What do you think?

Besides Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and James Spader, "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Gal Gadot as Wonderwoman, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth and Diane Lane as Martha Kent. The film is slated to hit the theaters on Mar. 25, 2016.
