There are still a few months before the expected release date for “Batman: Arkham Knight.” And developer Rocksteady Studios seems to be a little more willing to give updates for fans.

Gaz Deaves of Rocksteady Studios sat down with Gamingbolt to give a few details about the Batmobile and the different modes that it will be used for. It’s no secret that the addition of the Batmobile has been the main hype of “Batman: Arkham Knight,” especially a drivable one. With the introduction of the hardware and power that next-gen consoles PS4 and Xbox One can now provide, the drivable Batmobile has become a possibility for the developers.

“Batman’s car is such an important part of his identity, and it’s been interpreted so differently by so many different writers and creators,” said Deaves to Gamingbolt. “We really felt this sense of obligation to show what our version of the Batmobile would look like—and give players the unique experience of driving that car.”

This is why the developer’s take on “Batman: Arkham Knight” has placed the Batmobile on a pedestal that allows it to become a powerful vehicle and companion to the Caped Crusader. Deaves reveals more information about the two modes, the Pursuit and Battle Modes. The former is all about going through the city and apprehending criminals. The latter mode is all about the guns and the goods, as well as see tear down all that obstructs your path in the environment.

But players should assume that the Batmobile is the easy way out in tight spots. If anything, Rocksteady assures fans that the Batmobile will have its purpose in the game. There will be areas in the game where the Batmobile will be needed. More than this, there will also be areas in the game where it won’t be accessible, but players will wish that they could get their hands on it.

Gameranx adds more detail, stating that when the Batmobile destroys something in the environment, it will remain ruined for good. This really takes the idea of destructible environment to the next level, and Rocksteady may be planning some way for it to affect the gameplay.

Speaking of the Batmobile, the official “Batman Arkham” Facebook page has featured two new screenshots to cap off the week for fans. In both screenshots, The Batman be seen in all his costume’s detailed glory. The background isn’t that bad as well.

In the link above, the earlier screenshot shows the cityscape in the background as both Batman and the Batmobile take center stage, ready to fight crime. The other screenshot shows Batman walking towards criminals, mere moments away from all the combat and action. The details alone are astounding, and made possible, mostly because of the hardware power of the PS4, Xbox One and PC, which will be the only platforms where the “Batman: Arkham Knight” is set to release on in Jun. 2.
