“Bates Motel” Season 5, Episode 8 (“The Body”) airs April 10 on A&E. The “Psycho” prequel series is now down to its last three episodes. Norma (Vera Farmiga) sticks around this week, while Dylan (Max Thieriot) helps Norman (Freddie Highmore). On Twitter, co-creator Kerry Ehrin posted she is proud of how things turned out.

Editor’s note: This article contains “Bates Motel” Season 5 spoilers. Some details from the previous episodes are explained here.

In its episode synopsis, A&E says Norma Bates (who only exists in Norman’s mind) shows some tough love in “The Body.” In the new episode promo video, Norman is heard saying it is time for her to “end this.” Fans are guessing this means another blackout for Norman, whose latest victim is the lover of Rihanna’s Marion Crane.

Michael Ausiello of TV Line recently reported Norman is going to “throw someone close to him under the bus” to clear his name. Fans believe Sheriff Jane Greene (Brooke Smith) is going to be more suspicious of Norman in this week’s episode.

Meanwhile, Dylan is heard defending Norman in the promo clip for “Bates Motel.” He says, “He’s not a bad a person. He’s not a criminal. He’s crazy.” It remains to be seen whether Dylan could survive this week’s episode. Avid viewers are also eager to see the kind of tough love that Norman would give himself at this point in the tail-end of the series.

In another interesting moment in “The Body,” Sheriff Alex Romero (Nestor Carbonell) resurfaces at Bates Motel for the first time since Norma nearly killed Norman. Romero’s revenge is one of the last arcs of this season.

On Twitter, showrunner Kerry Ehrin posted she is “in denial” about the imminent ending of “Bates Motel.” The show boss also said she is proud of what the creative team has done on the series. (Read her tweet below.)

Ehrin’s co-creator and fellow showrunner Carlton Cuse had earlier said he had always known how the series would end. (Read Cuse’s comments here.) Fans hoping for “Bates Motel” Season 6 are likely to be disappointed, because both Ehrin and Cuse had said the drama was designed to last for only five seasons.

“Bates Motel” Season 5 airs Mondays on A&E. The series runs in Australia via Showcase at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.
