Spoiler alert! This article contains “Bates Motel" spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the new episode airs.

In the previous episode, Norman was surprised that his mother married Romero without his knowledge and consent, and wanted the two to get a divorce. Romero left the Bates residence to help Norman adjust better. Norman was furious about the thought of his mother being in a romantic relationship with another man. A confrontation ensued between Norman and Norma, as well as Norman and the sheriff.

Meanwhile, the DEA dealt with Rebecca (Jaime Ray Newman), thinking that Romero was involved in the Bob Paris incident.

"Norman and Norma try to reconnect as they plan for the future; frustrated by Norma's blind eye, Romero and Dylan decide to take action for Norman's own good,” states the episode synopsis on Spoilers Daily.

In the next episode, titled “Forever,” Norman will attempt to mend his relationship with his mother, Norma. Both mother and son will get ready for their future, although Romero (Nestor Farmiga) and Dylan (Max Thieriot) will be in their way. Both Romero and Dylan may interfere with the objective of saving Norman.

Romero and Dylan are not convinced that Norman has improved since he exited the Pineview Institute. The two decide to guarantee Norma’s safety by letting her know that her son’s mental condition has not truly improved despite his time at the mental facility. Romero was shown in the promo video warning Norma that Norman is dangerous. Norma answered that she knows her son well. The sheriff explained about his confrontation with Norman and how the latter almost killed him.

Dylan will also talk to Norma about the threats that her son is posing and how she should stay safe. Dylan will also communicate with his brother to help him be aware of his current mental health.

As for Norman, he believes that he should be with his mother forever.

During an interview with Showbiz Junkies, Freddie Highmore shared that Norman may be better staying at Bates Motel, instead of the Pineview Institute. Being close to his mother may be better for him. The two understand how they are inseparable, even though they may try to deny it.

“Bates Motel” Season 4 Episode 9 will air next on May 9 on A&E. It airs on SoHo in Australia. More updates and details are expected soon.
