Fans just got a first look of the upcoming season of “The Bachelorette,” and they are split about the reality show’s new star, television journalist Georgia Love.

Last month, Channel Ten announced that the 27-year-old brunette beauty would succeed season one’s Sam Frost in a brand new quest for true love. The short trailer opens with a colourful glimpse of Georgia happily riding a bicycle. It also features soundbites from the new bachelorette, and ends with an image of Georgia donning a gorgeous strapless red gown. As she waits at the entrance of the mansion, her suitors start to arrive, all suited up.

“People would never ever believe that my surname’s actually love,” she said in the video. “It sounds like it’s a made-up thing.” The Tasmania-born media personality then admitted that she has always prioritised work, and it’s lonely having no one to share her life with. She wondered, “If I don’t have someone to come home to, then what’s the point of everything else?”

Georgia share that she’s just any other typical single woman, who has gone out there and experienced being heartbroken. “I’m so over all of that,” she said. “I’m just ready to find that one who’s going to be my support and my best friend for the rest of my life.”

Facebook fans of the franchise were quick to comment about the new sneak peek of “The Bachelorette.” User Sara-Jayne Gray observed, “She’s sick of dating but decided to go on a dating show to date many guys at once hahahah.” Viewer Lauren Leicester offered the Georgia a piece of advice: “Get a cat!! Don’t need no man!”

Some, on the other hand, felt like the network picked the wrong person to be this year’s “The Bachelorette.” User Peta Bearzatto wondered, “Anyone a bit [suspicious] that she is already a TV presenter? I’m thinking she won’t be as natural on TV – not any of them are I guess!” Another, who calls herself Thao Mimi is “not keen on her at all” after reading all the articles about Georgia.

Meanwhile, a fan named Abby Kaladis reckoned that she’s “going to like this heaps better” compared to “The Bachelor” this year. User Imogen Frazer agreed, writing, “I feel like this will be a good season – she seems like she will have decent contestants.”

In the upcoming season, Georgia will have her pick among 18 eligible bachelors. In a video released earlier by Channel Ten earlier, she enumerated the qualities of her ideal partner. “I’m looking for a man who can make me laugh and who I can laugh with,” she said. She also revealed that she wants someone “who’s driven and who knows what he wants out of life and has the passion to achieve that.” Like some of the reality show’s fans, Georgia can’t wait to start her love journey. “The thought that I might find the man of my dreams is what excites me more than anything,” she revealed.

“The Bachelorette” Season 2 is scheduled to premiere later this year. Stay tuned for more updates and spoilers.
