Another reality show couple bites the dust. “The Bachelor” of American version Chris Soules, who starred in this year’s Season 19, has decided to pull the plug on his engagement with Whitney Bischoff.

“The Bachelor” creator Mike Fleiss was the first to break the news about the couple's break up on Twitter. On Thursday, he posted on his Twitter feed that Soules and Bischoff are no longer engaged.

The couple’s rep. confirmed the news via a statement. “Whitney Bischoff and Chris Soules have mutually and amicably decided to end their engagement,” the rep. said, as quoted by Entertainment Weekly (EW). “They part with nothing but respect and admiration for one another and will continue to be supportive friends. They wish to thank everyone who has supported them through this journey.”

The two have decided to split after nearly six months of taking the engagement plunge on the reality show, the shooting of which took place months before its episodes were aired. In the season finale of “The Bachelor” Season 19, aired in March, Soules proposed to Bischoff, with a 4-carat Neil Lane rock.

Soules starred in the recently concluded “Dancing with the Stars” and Bischoff regularly flew in from Chicago to watch his performances. The two did not give a whiff that their relationship is not working and they are thinking of ending the engagement.

Meanwhile, EW has reported that after the final episode wrapped up, rumours surfaced that the couple’s romance may not be “touchy-feely” as it is being presented. According to EW, it looked like Soules had his eyes set on another contestant, Becca Tilley.

This reminds of Blake Garvey, the bachelor of “The Bachelor Australia” Season 2. In the season finale, he proposed to Sam Frost, who is currently shooting for the Australian version of “The Bachelorette.” Soon after the telecast of the final episode, the broadcast channel Ten announced that the two have called off their engagement. It did not take Blake too long to confirm rumours that he was interested in the second runner-up, Louise Pillidge. Blake and Louise are currently an item and living together, while Sam is off to find her man as the first bachelorette of Australia.
