Following speculations that Avril Lavigne and husband Chad Kroeger are on the verge of divorce, the singer celebrated her 30th birthday without Chad. This certainly fuels the divorce rumours even more.

On Saturday, US Weekly learns that the pop star did not have the pleasure of celebrating her 30th birthday in the arms of her husband and Nickelback singer Chad. While Avril was still all smiles in the pictures of this celebration, Chad's absence, according to speculations, is quite telling of the state of their marriage.

Lavigne celebrated her 30th birthday at the The Bank Nightclub in the Bellagio Resort and Casino. In attendance was her close friends and family. However, the one person that should have been there, her husband, was missing. Observers are of the opinion that the two are headed for a split. A source even confirms the speculations.

US Weekly had an insider sharing that the two are indeed divorcing. The source claimed that it is even Chad himself that's admitting and spreading these divorce rumours.

"It's over," an insider shared to the magazine. "He has been going around LA telling people that they are divorcing."

The "Hello Kitty" singer got married to Chad in the South of France in July 2013. They have been engaged for a year when they tied the knot.

These divorce rumours about the two are murky at best. It was not that a long time ago when the couple celebrated their first year anniversary as husband and wife. On that day, Avril shared her sparkling gift from her husband: an enormous 17-carat ring. She even gushed about it.

"I still can't believe my 1 year anniversary gift," said the " Complicated" singer, showing off the stunning ring. "17 carat emerald cut. Wow. I love my hubby."

Chad himself is said to have addressed the rumours of the split on the eve of Avril's birthday. He posted a cryptic message on his band Nickelback's Twitter something about "rumors and lies."

"I've been listening to a couple Fleetwood Mac and Guns N Roses albums recently. RUMORS & LIES ... Too funny - CK," the tweet reads.
