"Avengers 2" or "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is almost seven months away from its release date. However, details about its sequel "Avengers 3" are already popping up. According to the reports swirling around, fans must brace themselves for a major change-up.

Badass Digest suggests "Avengers 3" may not feature some of the fan-favourite superheroes such as Chris Hemsworth's Thor and Chris Evans' Captain America. The big modification comes in the wake of contract negotiation. The report notes that when "Avengers: Age of Ultron" releases it will be the end of Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Two and beginning of Phase three and these actors' contracts will come to an end.

This definitely does not mean the end of "Avengers." The report does not rule out the possibility of the renewal the contracts, but that would mean bigger pay packages for actors' portraying the "Avengers" superheroes. The website speculates that Phase Three may see newer characters such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant Man, Doctor Strange and Ms. Marvel while the original Avengers get an year off.

In other news, Spider man is rumoured to be joining the Iron-Man's team in a major crossover. Several media outlets picked up the rumour from Hitfix report. The report hinted at "richer, weirder and much much larger" Marvel Universe in next five years.

"While I can't get the confirmations I need to verify the story, I'm hearing that there are some very cool 'Spider-Man' plans being discussed that would help Sony refocus their enormously important franchise while also opening up some connections in the on screen Marvel movie universe that would blow fandom's minds," Hitfix wrote in an article on Oct. 6, 2014.

However, the source from the abovementioned website does not confirm the news about the possibility of such a deal between Sony and Marvel. An official announcement or statement made by both or either of the entertainment studios would only confirm the rampant speculation.

Until then, fans must gear themselves for the return of the original cast when "Avengers: Age of Ultron" releases on May 1, 2015. The second sequel of the massively popular Marvel's franchise also features Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and James Spader as the super villain Ultron.
