Some Australian celebrities have also been victimised by the 4Chan hacker who released nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence. Gabi Grecko, Teresa Palmer, Emily Browning and Yvonne Strahovski are among the dozens of female stars whose private data have been breached by the unknown hacker.

A massive celebrity-hacking scheme has been uncovered earlier this week after an anonymous user from the imageboard site bragged about acquiring nude photos and videos of dozens of female celebrities. The hacker posted screenshots of his/her desktop, showing folders of celebrities’ photos.

Lawrence unquestionable bears the brunt of the scandal as her nude photos have been the most shared and talked about online.

Her rep confirmed the authenticity of the photos.

“This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence,” the actress’ spokesperson said in a statement to BuzzFeed.

Selena Gomez, Kaley Cuoco, Kate Upton, Rihanna, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kirsten Dunst, Ariana Grande and U.S. soccer play Hope Solo and gymnast McKayla Maroney are just a few of the names also included in the hacked files. There are said to be over 100 celebrities victimised in the hacking scheme.

Some of them have denied the authenticity of the released photos, while some confirmed the photos but condemned the privacy violation. Most of the names in the said list have yet to release their statement over the matter.

Apart from Hollywood names, there are Australian personalities who have been affected as well. Grecko, the 24-year-old model engaged to 71-year-old medical entrepreneur Geoffrey Edelsten, is appalled by how her privacy has been breached by the hacker.

“I feel like anything I didn’t release myself that was accessed without my permission is shameful,” she said to Daily Mail Australia. “Some people are very private and maybe hugely affected and feel violated because of this. There have also been many suicides connected to non-consented photos being released.”

Her explicit photos have yet to surface online.

Edelsten also expressed his disgust over the inclusion of his fiancé’s name.

“It’s disgusting. All private correspondence and images should remain private. It’s disgraceful that personal information can be stolen and dispersed to others,” he told Confidential.

28-year-old “Take Me Home Tonight” star Palmer’s photos with ex-boyfriend Scott Speedman also began surfacing on Twitter. One of the photos apparently show her lounging topless in a swimming pool, while another sees her fully nude. Over 30 images of her have reportedly been released.

She has not responded to the privacy breach yet, but she has released a stronger statement that says the scandal hasn’t affected her relationship with her husband Mark Webber and their kids, her 6-month-old son Bodhi Rain and her 6-year-old stepson Isaac Love.

Former “Chuck” star Yvonne Strahovski, 32, and “Sucker Punch” actress Emily Browning’s photos have also been published, though both Aussie actresses have not yet commented on the issue.
