While the world was busy watching the Argentina vs. Switzerland Round of 16 match in Brazil, Nick Kyrgios was engaged in his own Round of 16 war battle against World No.1 in Rafael Nadal in London.

The Australian teenager delivered the improbable beating the Spaniard in four sets, 7-6 (5), 5-7, 7-6 (5), 6-3 to pull off the biggest upset yet in the 2014 Wimbledon Championships.

Nobody gave the Kyrgios the chance to beat Nadal, the betting lines for this one put Nadal as a 1.06 favourite to win the fourth round match. The 19-year-old Aussie not only beat Nadal but also the odds winning as 9.00 underdogs in the biggest win in his young career.

The 6-foot-4 Kyrgios’ big serves put Nadal on his heels for much of the evening. The Australian had more aces than Nadal, 37-11 and also had more winners, 70-44.

Kyrgios previous breakout performance was against 13th seed Richard Gasquet of France in the second round. Born in Canberra, Australia, Kyrgios just turned pro last year, 2013 and has a losing professional record of 5-7 entering the match against Nadal.

The 6th win in his pro career is inarguably, the sweetest.
