The adorable one-year old Persian cat Winston Smushface, from Queensland, Australia, could very well become the country’s version of Grumpy Cat. Like the original internet sensation Tardar Sauce, or better known as Grumpy Cat in the U.S., Winston possesses his unique grumpy look and has already earned himself social media followers.

According to Woman’s Day, Winston is fast-becoming Australia’s own Grumpy Cat. He already has over three thousand followers on his personal Instagram page, where his proud parents, Jessie Jones, 26, and Nicholas Atkins, 35, keep up-to-date with Winston’s latest photos and videos.

His tongue-out face is not hard to miss in most of his photos and videos on Instagram. A look through his posts likewise proves being grumpy doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t be adorable at the same time too.

Winston’s parents make sure his loyal fans also see his mischievous side, from hiding inside a microwave box (photo) to stealing some vegetables stack on the table as seen in this photo. Winston also loves adventure. He is not scared of heights, as seen in this Instagram snap showing him calmly posing on a ledge overlooking the neighbouring houses. He keeps up to date with current events by watching the news. Winston clearly also has a fascination with water, which cats normally hate.

In an interview with Woman’s Day, Winston’s owner photographer Nicholas expressed his disbelief at the attention their cat is getting. He also shared how they ended up owning the Persian cat when he was just six months old.

“We got Winston when he was six months old as a birthday present for Jessie. Turns out he’s the gift that keeps on giving! He has been absolutely hilarious from the get go. He’s very affectionate and loves to play. He’s definitely very chill for a cat and loves to be around people. It’s been really fun and entertaining," he said.

Jesse likewise told the Gold Coast Bulletin how she’s naturally a dog person but Winston stood out for her because of his “squishy face.” Although the one-year old Winston has only been with them for six months, he never fails to entertain everyone with his “silly tongue always sticking out.” Winston may soon be appearing in promotional photos as Jesse hinted, which could propel his stardom as Australia’s very own Grumpy Cat.
