On Sept. 9, Apple introduced its next-generation iPhone 6 with 4.7-inch display and iPhone 6 Plus phablet with 5.5-inch display. Furthermore, Apple Watch was also demoed. However now, the pricing and the release date details of both the iPhone 6 models pertaining to Australia are revealed.

Reportedly, both the handsets will hit the Australian store shelves on Sept.19 and the pre-order starts from Sept 12. The quoted outright price of the iPhone 6 16 GB variant is $869, while the 64 GB and the whopping 128 GB models come for $999 and $1129 respectively. In addition, the iPhone 6 Plus 16 GB variant can be purchased for $999, whereas the 64 GB and the 128 GB models will come for $1129 and $1249 respectively, according to The Australian.

Other option is to buy the iPhone 6 models via telco's contract /plans. Telstra has now opened pre-registration specific to the Apple device. However, potential buyers can pre-order the handset from Sept. 12. The company also says that the iPhone 6 is compatible with 700 MHz spectrum, which is currently being tested in Perth, Esperance, Fremantle, Mildura, Griffith and Mount Isa. Nevertheless, Sydney and Adelaide are next in line for limited testing. Vodafone, on the other hand, is offering the same pre-registration form for interested buyers at this point. Eventually, Virgin and Optus will follow suit, says CNet.

It is worth noting that, major Australian carriers are providing credits of $450 to break existing contracts/plans and switch to other carriers. Interestingly, an estimated 1.5 million Apple iPhone 6 smartphone units will be sold by 2014 end, opines Australian telco research firm Telsyte via The Australian.

Since Apple is not offering the 32 GB iPhone 6 option, the 64 GB model will be in high-demand and that could cause supply issues, says Foad Fadaghi, Managing Director of Telsyte. The Director also opined that, with iPhone 6 release around the corner, many competitors will be slashing the price of their flagship devices.

When it comes to wearable gadgets, the heavily rumoured Apple Watch will hit the store shelves sometime in early 2015. The Apple Watch is priced at US$349, while the Australian pricing is unknown at this point. Furthermore, several variants of the Watch will be offered during release. This includes a basic Apple Watch, a premium Apple Watch made of 18 carat gold and Apple Watch Sport that comes with a 60 pc solid case.
