Australian point guard Matthew Dellavedova will receive his 2016 championship ring at The Q when the Cavs and Bucks play there Wednesday. He is considered as the newest Aussie NBA champ.

Dellavedova said that this is his Christmas present for himself this year. “It’s just awesome. To come all the way from Australia, then college at St Mary’s and to go undrafted before joining the Cavaliers, it has been an amazing journey. Then now be to NBA champions, it’s just a dream come true,” Dellavedova told AAP.

There are reports that Dellavedova follows the footsteps of other basketball stars namely Luc Longley, Andrew Gaze, Aron Baynes, Patty Mills and Andrew Bogut.

The Aussie basketball star left the Cavs last summer when he signed a four-year contract with Milwaukee as a restricted free agent. It was in 2015 when he became a fan favorite during the playoffs. He became Cleveland's top bench player for the last season.

Scouts have described him as gritty, rugged and intelligent player. Others dubbed him as someone who plays every minute like it’s his last.

“You know every time he steps on the floor, he’s like in the top three or four guys in plus-minus in the league, and he’s a backup,” Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said of him earlier this season.
