He will not play a relative of the Harpers. He will not replace the Charlie Harper played by the troubled Charlie Sheen for seven seasons on "Two and a Half Men". But CBS has ‘slightly’ revealed what America and the world, should expect from the show’s new front: comedian and actor, Ashton Kutcher.

Kutcher, who finally replaced Charlie as the main man of most-watched comedy show on American television, is playing the character of an ‘internet billionaire with a broken heart’.

While CBS has remained mum about the mounting speculations that Charlie Sheen’s character will indeed be killed on the show’s premiere in September, the show’s network producers and creators has opened up ‘a little’ about Ashton Kutcher’s role on “Men”.

According to the Daily Mail, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said in a meeting with reporters Wednesday, August 3, that Kutcher is playing the role of Walden Schmidt, an ‘internet billionaire with a broken heart. It’s just fitting for the 33-year-old actor who, as to date, remains to be one of the top celebrities with most followers on Twitter.

As reported earlier by IBTimes AU, producers of America’s hit show have sat down and made sure that they have new to offer to its millions of audience this year. New season. New Face. New storyline that includes killing its old star by “having him drive off the hill where he met his untimely demise”.

Does this represent how the network view Sheen and his long history of troubles, before and after he was fired from “Men” on March 7 this year.

"Who could have predicted that we would be here six months ago?," Tassler was quoted as telling reporters by The Los Angeles Times.
"Our whole focus right now is moving forward," the Entertainment president added.

“Moving forward” is a big thought after many months of media frenzy over Charlie Sheen and the fact that he was fired by Warner Bros [which Charlie Sheen insisted was the works of his now No.1 nemesis, CBS honcho, Chuck Lorre]

But according to the LA Times, ‘moving forward’ meant new ways to handle its casts, particularly its newly hired big star, who came into the show with a big bang, considering the size of shoes that he has to fill. LA Times said that ‘moving forward’ meant “walling off Kutcher from the prying questions of reporters”.

Kutcher may have big shoes to fill, indeed. Despite his troubles, Charlie Sheen was America’s highest-paid television with his job on “Men”. Kutcher has come from a long list of men to replace Sheen on the comedy show and this should tell you, he may deserve a good honeymoon period after his first episode on the ninth season of the show.

“Men” is scheduled to begin taping its first episode on Friday, August 5. The show premiers in U.S. television on September 19.
