If you had a doubt the Olympics was not the place to express your innermost emotions openly, think again. American figure skater Ashley Wagner's reaction after she received scores below expectation has impressed a huge number of people. Now, her reaction is the mother of several hilarious memes.

Ms Wagner's face was beaming with excitement and ecstasy before the score appeared. However, when she saw that she received a disappointing 63.10, her face became absorbed in the expression of utter disbelief and disgust.

Ms Wagner must have gone to Sochi to prove her true potential as her selection for the Olympics was quite controversial. For some uncanny reasons, Ms Wagner was preferred to her competitor who had higher scores. The 22-year-old must have felt the pressure of performing well at the Sochi Olympics more because she performed rather poorly at the Nationals. Her Olympic debut must have been the worst of what she had ever imagined.

Ms Wagner might not have thought that she did poorly as her broad smile almost made her lips touch her ears. She waited, along with the rest of her team, for something extraordinary to appear on screen. On the contrary, the number she got made her disgusted, and she expressed it with every bit of true expressions she had in her. She may eventually want to forget her performance that left her at the fourth spot, but her reaction may already have become immortal.

Nobody might have been apprehensive about what Ms Wagner exactly felt after looking at the score. Still, she articulated her emotion in front of the press. She said to journalists that she was aware of what she was capable of. She added that she was also aware how much the programme was capable of. She admitted that she was not in agreement with the score.
