Robbie Williams Is Excited About ARIA Awards

With the limelight set to shine on local music darling Jessica Mauboy, Robbie Williams will have to work for his share of attention when he performs at the ARIA Awards.

The UK pop sensation, known for his smirking, 'cheeky chappie' appeal, was the epitome of charm and confidence at his first media appearance since he arrived in the country. The singer, who is also here on a brief promotional tour for his eighth studio album, Reality Killed The Video Star, is set to perform the first single off at the album, Bodies, at the show tomorrow night.

The singer admitted that poor sales of his last album, Rudebox, were a catalyst in his decision to relocate to Los Angeles for some serious career soul-searching. He also confessed that he even considered giving up performing completely due to the physical demands of his last tour.

Three years span Rudebox and the latest album, a period during which the unconventional singer seemed to undergo a scruffy makeover and eschew the hedonistic excesses of his former rock 'n' roll life.

Musically, things appear to be looking up for the former boy band member, with Bodies peaking at #4 on the Australian music charts and joining Rock DJ as the most successful singles he has released in the country.

Robbie might like to compare notes with Keith Urban tomorrow night at the ARIA's ... Keith could explain what it takes and give Robbie some advice about success in life and in his career ... Keith Urban who is proudly Australian, has been nominated in and has performed at the CMA's, AMA's and the ARIA's all in the last two weeks ... A feat I'm sure not too many musician's could have on their cv ... GO KEITH URBAN - YOU'RE #1
