Two winning tickets were drawn last night in the nation's largest lottery prize ever.
One ticket belonged to a Queensland couple, the other to a man from South Australia. Both have asked not to be identified. They will split the A$106 million, each taking home about A$53 million in a tax-free, lump sum payout.
Australians lined up as the excitement grew over the last week and the Oz Lotto jackpot also climbed to over A$106 million. The chance of actually winning? Just one in 45 million according to lottery operator, Tatts Group Ltd.
So what do you do when you wake up a millionaire?
The couple from Queensland are said to have gone to work today. The other winner says he is making plans to travel, and help his family and charities with his prize.
The previous top lottery prize in the country was A$58 million. That money went to a single winner last year.
