Paramedics affirmed Jackson had no pulse when they arrived and "they never got a pulse back", according to TMZ reports.

The world is being rocked with reports that Michael Jackson has died after suffering a heart attack at his Los Angeles abode this morning.

TMZ.com believes ambulance officers were unable to revive the legend after they were summoned to his house about 5.30am (AEST).

Paramedics affirmed Jackson had no pulse when they arrived and "they never got a pulse back", according to TMZ reports.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting the 50-year-old has died also.

Earlier, a member of the Jackson family told the website Michael was in "really bad shape".

Michael's father Joe Jackson said his son was not doing well.

"His mother is on her way to the hospital now to check in on him," he has been quoted as saying on the People magazine website. It was also reported that his sister rushed to the hospital crying after the news was made known.

"I am not sure what's wrong. I am waiting to hear back from them."
