"In the global world, that is a thorny discussion," according to Paulo Borges, the founder of Brazil's greatest fashion event.

He made reference to the commitment signed by organisers of SPFW in May of this year, with Brazilian authorities.

The Roman Catholic association EDUCAFRO (Education and Citizenship for Afro-descendants and Deprived People) organized a protest-parade at the SPFW venue, where black-only models stood on a catwalk.
