When President Barack Obama and his family move into the White House this week, they plan to bring his mother-in-law as well.

Marian Robinson, 71-year-old mother of Michelle Obama, will care for the Obama children - Sasha, 6, and Malia, 10 - while their parents settle into their new, busy roles.

Robinson has been the primary baby sitter for the girls since they were born. While the Obama's were away on the campaign trail, Robinson would accompany the girls to school, make dinner for them and put them to bed.

However, Robinson only plans to live with them for a short period of time while her grand daughters settle into their new lives and home.

"I love those people, but I love my own house. The White House reminds me of a museum and its like, how do you sleep in a museum?" she told People.

She also said she is not as strict as her daughter, Michelle Obama.

"I follow the rules at Michelle's house. At my house, they're my rules. I know Michelle is strict ... When I'm at their house, the girls are doing all the stuff their mother has told them to do, there's not much left for me to do! But when they're at my house, they don't have to scrape the dishes – and they get to watch TV."
