Samsung in partnership with AT&T announced on Tuesday it is launching its latest smartphone called "Epix," a device featuring a touchscreen, slide out QWERTY keyboard and Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system.
The "Epix" is available only through AT&T in the United States and is powered by AT&T's 3G network. It is more than an upgrade of the BlackJack II smartphone. The new device is equipped with an optical mouse in addition to the touchscreen mode.
The optical mouse is expected to help users to navigate more easily. The phone also has a 2.5 inch screen, a silver finish and measures 4.6 inches high by 2.4 inches wide and 0.5 inches deep. It has a 2-megapixel camera.
Its features include a variety of e-mail solutions including Microsoft Direct Push, AT&T Xpress Mail, and Good Mobile Messaging. It also facilitates the use of Email via Outlook.
Epix also allows an easy Web navigation, and access to video and video calls . The phone's price in the US market is $99.99 for a two-year contract.
