McCain calls voters 'my fellow prisoners'

08 October 2008 @ 05:43 pm AEST

After making it through the second presidential debate last night without committing any serious gaffes, Sen. John McCain slipped this afternoon when speaking to a crowd in Pennsylvania.

"You and I together will confront the $10 trillion debt the federal government has run up and balance the federal budget by the end of my term in office. Across this country, this is the agenda I have set before my fellow prisoners and the same standards of clarity and candor must now be applied to my opponent."

Instead of saying "my fellow Americans" or "my friends," he said "my fellow prisoners" but doesn't seem to realize it.
