Actress Anne Hathaway has signed for a role on "Alice in Wonderland", a Walt Disney adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book which will be directed by Tim Burton.
Hathaway, whose movie "Rachel Getting Married" is now showing at theaters, joined a the cast which also includes Burton's fiancé Helena Bonham Carter (Red Queen), Johnny Depp (Mad Hatter) and Mia Waskikowska (Alice).
Hathaway starring roles includes Agent 99 in "Get Smart." The actress has also appeared on the horror film "Passengers."
"Alice in Wonderland" starts shooting this fall and is scheduled for release in 2010, according to the International Movie Data Base.
