Arsene Wenger seems to be ready to spend a mammoth £75M on three players. Going against years of austerity, Wenger has splashed the cash in the last couple of transfer windows. Every Arsenal supporter will tell you that the club is one centre-back, one defensive midfielder and a goalkeeper away from becoming the real deal. It seems that for once the manager and the fans are on the same page. If reports in North London are anything to go by then he is eyeing exactly that combination for a staggering fee.

Matts Hummels, centre-back, is being wanted by a lot of clubs, with special interest coming from Manchester United. Their advances have been encouraged by the Borussia Dortmund captain refusing to sign a new deal with the club. He has won a whole host of trophies at the club and previously snubbed any offers to leave. This season however they are fighting relegation and the major players are looking for a way out.

"I will stick to my way of not promising anything and maybe leave someday instead of saying I will stay forever and then leave all of a sudden", Hummels confessed when quizzed about his future at the club. The other Dortmund player on Wenger's radar is the defensive midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. He is known for his passing and technical ability, a must for all potential Arsenal transfers. He missed the bulk of last season because of injury he has subsequently made a complete recovery and has already started eight games this season.

Finally Arsenal are preparing to make a £12m transfer request to Geona for Mattia Perin. He has been arguably the best goalkeeper in the Serie A this season after a string of brilliant performances. Wenger seems to have lost the will to continue with the error prone Wojciech Szczesny for long.
