Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that Tottenham Hotspurs’ home advantage ahead of their north London derby on Saturday would not have as much perceived effect on his squad.

A win at White Hart Lane for the Gunners could mean moving temporarily to as high as the third spot on the table depending on the result in the Southampton and Queens Park Rangers match.

“In the derbies the home ground is not too significant sometimes because it’s a high commitment, high pace and we just focus on the quality of our game and our performance no matter where we play,” Wenger told Arsenal.com.

“We’ll do the same tomorrow.”

“Of course [the derby is special] because the two teams are fighting very hard to be at the top of the league. It can be a spectacular game.”

Arsenal have kept a clean sheet in their previous three games in the Premier League while manhandling the opposition offensively, and Wenger thinks that their great form on the defensive end could be the reason to their recent success.

“[One reason is] confidence, the fact that we defend better maybe,” he added.

“We have another good test tomorrow on that aspect of our game. After all, football is fragile when you have not got confidence.”

“When you have positive results behind you it makes everybody stronger and we have also recovered nearly all our defenders now, and that is of course important.”

The Gunners came out victorious in two of their past three meetings, but in their latest fixture last September, the Spurs managed to hold on to a 1-1 draw.

Circumstances have, however, changed since they last met. Mauricio Pochettino seem to have successfully inculcated his intended philosophy to his charges, as his side is slowly finding their identity as a unit, bringing them more wins after struggling during the early stretch of the ongoing campaign.
