A new year is coming for everyone’s favourite marksman. However, this would come with lots of surprises for him and his crew as someone returns from the grave, but in a different manner.

The midwinter finale for “Arrow” might not have answered a lot of questions about Prometheus, but they manage to throw in major cliffhangers that would be answered when the show returns. Now that the teaser is out, it gives viewers exactly what they want to learn about Laurel Lances’s (Katie Cassidy) return.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Arrow” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the next episode airs.

The video clip on the January 25 return of “Arrow” seems to confirm that the Laurel, who was found standing in the bunker in the closing moments, is not the Black Canary that fans remember. Taking into consideration the demeanour and the Canary Cry, it could be highly probable that it could be the Black Siren of Earth-2 who was locked in the timeline in “The Flash” second season.

Oliver discovered that Laurel Lance had been awaiting for him and this was quite a surprise because Laurel had been dead, writes Gizmodo. T he Lazarus pit, which was the only way that was known to resurrect people in the DC universe, had also been destroyed. As for the sneak peek, it shows that Laurel has absolutely no idea what has happened to her.

However, as the clip shows, it looks like she will be a different Laurel this time. Now, she has turned into a supervillain who goes by the name of Black Siren (and had made an appearance on “The Flash” earlier). Fans are now wondering how Earth-2 Laurel had made her way to Earth-1, which is not yet known at this point. However, there being a lot of speedsters with capabilities to twist timelines and activate alternate realities, some of these guys probably messed things up and had Laurel ended up where she has been.

The next episode of “Arrow,” titled “Who Are You,” will return on Wednesday January 25 at 8 p.m. on the CW. It also airs on Channel Nine in Australia.
