A whole host of new characters will be introduced in “Arrow” Season 5. One of the new characters will have a connection to Green Lantern, paving the way for more worlds to cross over into the Arrowverse.

[Spoiler alert]

Carly Pope has been cast to play the recurring role of a character named Susan Williams, who is a journalist working in Coast City, TV Insider reports. Susan will travel to Star City in the next season in order to make a name for herself by targeting Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell).

The character Susan Williams is from comic books. She is married to Jim Jordan, who is the younger brother of Hal Jordan. Hal is better known by his superhero name – Green Lantern. There is, however, no confirmation that the superhero will be appearing in the TV series any time soon.

Some of the new crime fighting superheroes confirmed to appear in the next season include Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez), Vigilante (Josh Segarra) and Artemis (Evelyn Sharp). Oliver will lead these new team members in his fight against crime in “Arrow” Season 5.

Meanwhile, Amell wants Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) back on the show. The actor talked about wanting to work with Harper again in his interaction with fans on Facebook, Comic Book Movie reports.

"You know, I feel like I’m good with Roy Harper. Let’s get Roy Harper back," Amell told his fans.

Filming of the next season is set to begin on July 5th. The plot of the next season remains under wraps at the moment, but it is expected that the show will return to a more gritty tone after the supernatural powers of Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) left the fans craving for some old fashioned hand-to-hand combat of the earlier seasons.

“Arrow” Season 5 is set to return on Oct. 5 at 8/7c on The CW.
