‘Arrow Season 3’: Deathstroke Returns For Revenge But Not In Starling City
Fans reportedly have not seen the last of Deathstroke. The super-villain is said to make an appearance in the Season 3 of "Arrow."
Manu Bennett, the actor who gave life to the character, teased his return in the CW superhero drama during his appearance at the Wizard World Nashville Comic Con. According to Comicbook, the actor hinted his return based on his parting words in the old season.
"Realistically, when we talk about storyline, they threw me into a really interesting place, Purgatory," he said.
"And you know, I'm left at the end, shaking the bars, going, 'I keep my promises, kid.' And I think I meant it," he added.
Manu claims there's a chance his character will return for revenge in Season 3. He thinks producers just won't let "that voice subside into the vast abyss." However, the uncertain part is when Deathstroke will make a comeback. The actor claimed he was asked to return but no timeline has been provided yet. Likewise, he claimed there's been "no indication yet" of how the villain will be reintroduced in Season 3 of "Arrow."
If Deathstroke will really be brought back, Screenrant claims it may not even be to Starling City. The character may be making an appearance in any of the spinoff movies CW has reportedly discussed. Furthermore, the new season will supposedly feature fewer superpowers and will be more grounded instead. So Deathstroke may not be making an appearance right away.
Deathstroke is said to return for a face-off against Matt Nable's Ra's Al Ghul in Season 3 of "Arrow." Manu Bennett recalled working with the actor in the Australian miniseries "Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms." He claimed Nable played the head of the biker gang in the series and is a "great actor." As for the face-off, Bennett claims Stephen Amell may need to step up his game and "bring fire at that stage." Since he claimed Nable's "got such intensity to him" that he will really bring justice in portraying Ra's Al Ghul.
Season 3 of "Arrow" premieres on the CW channel on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at its slated timeslot at 8:00 p.m.
