"Arrow" Season 2 is expected to draw more viewers as the DC comics-based series earned positive reviews during its freshman run. New followers are tuning in to The CW for the Season 1 Arrow rerun. Stephen Amell, who plays billionaire superhero Oliver Queen, is gaining more fans via social media shout-outs. Meanwhile, Katie Cassidy gets herself ready to play Black Canary when the series returns post-hiatus.

Katie Cassidy, who plays lawyer Laurel Dinah Lance (leading lady to Stephen Amell's character), sounded eager to don her Black Canary costume next season. Laurel's superhero alter-ego is a popular character among DC comics fans. Green Arrow eventually marries Black Canary in the comics. However, the TV version could deliver a different character journey.

"(Laurel)'s becoming stronger and she's driven and very independent," Cassidy said during the recent The CW Upfronts. "But she's starting to stand up for what she believes in and maybe not always go through justice...hopefully season two she sort of going to be evolving into Black Canary."

In the same event with the media, Amell gave his own preview of Arrow Season 2. "It'll be our second season, but almost like a new series," Amell said, hinting a different take on the characters and story arcs.

Quite interesting is how many fans are "shipping" Oliver Queen with Felicity Smoak, giving rise to "Olicity." The TV chemistry between Amell and Emily Bett Rickards did not go unnoticed among comics and non-comics fans. Smoak is a very different character in the DC comics -- "older," as Rickards put it. Many viewers are noting in forum sites that Smoak is more likeable in the TV version.

Could Felicity get in the way of the love story between Black Canary and Oliver Queen?
