Nathan Sykes may already be in a relationship with "Sam & Cat" star, Ariana Grande but that isn't stopping him from checking out hotter girls in the biz. New reports claim Nathan has a thing for Justin Bieber's ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez. Of course, this was old news way before Ariana and Nathan became official. What else did The Wanted singer have to say about Selena Gomez?

"Almost Is Never Enough" is the perfect song to describe Nathan's could-have-been moment with the singer, Selena Gomez. Before "Nariana" even became a trend, Nathan Sykes had a crush on another lovely singer who was still in a relationship with a Canadian crooner. In an old interview with We Love Pop, The Wanted singer opens up about his crush on Selena Gomez.

"Now this is why I'm so jealous of Max!" says Sykes on his band made, Max George, adding, "He follows someone on Twitter, then he is in the tabloids saying he is in a relationship. I started following the Selena Gomez and nothing. Where is my relationship?!"

Of all people, why Selena Gomez? Obviously for Nathan, Selena was the perfect girl.

"To be honest, I always liked Selena, but I really did not want to go that side because Justin would kill me!" said Nathan, adding, "I would probably receive a call from [our manager] Scooter telling me to stay away! But she is splendid. She is perfect."

Nathan Sykes never even got the chance to "Come & Get It" because the first time he saw Selena, Sykes had gone completely speechless.

"I must have looked like a complete idiot. My friends were like, 'Just say hi,' but I could not even talk to her! . . . But that's how I am, I'm very, very nervous around girls that I really like. I need to improve my game. To be honest, I'm garbage anyway, I would be a terrible boyfriend," stated Sykes upon seeing the former "Jelena" duo at the Justin Timberlake concert.

If Nathan Sykes and Selena Gomez did manage to hook up before Ariana Grande, they'd be called "Nathlena" which already has a wide fan base on Twitter. Check out the slideshow to see fan art photos of the "Nathlena" duo.
